Everyone's crazy, just to different extents
The Wend*go is Not Your Cryptid
I’m Algonquin/Ojibwe and this is a spirit that comes from our teachings.
As a young child, the elders taught me to never even SPEAK its name, to not even sing its songs. When we sang a song about it during drumming group one year, we all got in trouble.
You do not spell the word or speak the word.
It’s NOT a “cryptid” or a “spooky story” for white people to appropriate.
Its bearly spoken about in our own communities, and even then, only very carefully.
Again, not because its “creepy” but because its respected and something in our traditions that is not played around with; so its certainly not for non-ojibwe/algonquin people to speak about whatsoever. Period.

k so there was this stitch going around tiktok where somebody was saying that fascists deserve to eat and be housed and people are ripping into him but.
here’s the thing. they’re human rights, not good person rights. I’m not shedding any tears over nazis getting punched in the face for their hate speech. this doesn’t mean tolerating their shit. it doesn’t mean giving them a platform. it just means providing them with the bare minimum to survive, as we would for everybody in this hypothetical world.
besides, how would you realistically enforce this? by my personal opinion is that there should be as few barriers to food and shelter and Healthcare etc as possible. not a fan of the idea of a soup kitchen making you fill out a political ideology questionnaire before they’ll help you.
yesterday I gave a homeless guy some water bottles and money. I didn’t ask about his political alignment first, I just gave it to him. it didn’t even occur to me to ask.
now I have a question, why does your hypothetical perfect world include questions about who does and doesn’t deserve human rights? I really don’t like the fact that people are uncritically engaging in that conversation tbqh. at the end of the day, who benefits from the idea that some people just don’t deserve basic human rights? who benefits from you engaging with this question in good faith?
because if somebody asks “do fascists deserve human rights?” what they’re really asking, whether they realize it or not, is “should human rights be revoked in some cases?”
There’s also the fact that people today can’t seem to agree on what “fascism” even means. This line of thinking can very quickly devolve from, “Fascists don’t deserve human rights!” to, “Anyone who disagrees with me politically doesn’t deserve human rights!” which…shouldn’t even need explaining for why that’s A Very Bad Idea.

What’s the comic sans trick?
#i feel like someone just asked me to eat dirt for my health
wingdings’ true purpose as a font
Wingdings holy shit some of y'all are on a whole different level of galaxy wizard brain batshittery and I am in awe.
Exciting. When I don’t want to see what I’m writing I just make the font color almost indistinguishable from the background color. (Do not do this.)
(I don’t think the secret to the comic sans hack is comic sans itself; I think it’s any deflation of being intimidated by your canvas.)
Hold on I need to go look something up immediately.

It was a Crowley thing 🦋
[ID: a comic of Crowley chatting with Aziraphale. At the start of the comic they are both wearing their ancient Mediterranean clothing and have their wings out.
Crowley says, “Hey Angel, er, odd question but, do you know why my stomach feels all fluttery when you’re around? Can’t be an angel thing, right?” He gestures at his stomach.
Aziraphale, holding an apple and looking nonplussed, repeats, “Fluttery?”
“Yeah,” says Crowley, “’s like I swallowed a bunch of those little flighty thingies. I think they’re called moths? Fly–well they fly. Oh! Butterfl– NGK!” Aziraphale has poked him in the stomach. Crowley’s wings spread out with a “fwoosh”, his face flushes bright red, and a little heart appears over his head. “Wh– hah, it IS an angel thing– gosh.” Aziraphale stares at him with little question marks over his head. In the corner is a note: “he’s touch starved, give him a break.”
The final panel shows the two of them in their modern clothing. Aziraphale is reading a book while Crowley throws an arm around his shoulder. “It wasn’t an angel thing,” says Crowley. Aziraphale chuckles smugly. “Bastard,” says Crowley. In parentheses is a little heart icon. End ID]

Unmute !
Audio & visual:
Man holding beer: “Wanna beer?” *holds beer next to wall?*
Man, muffled: “Yeah!” *punches through wall, grabs beer, makes hole larger pulling beer through*
Important detail: both have incredibly broad Australian accents
